Sports massage or soft-tissue therapy is the treatment of specific muscles, fascia, tendons or ligaments. Services include Swedish massage and lymphatic drainage. The experienced physiotherapists at Wetherby Sports Physiotherapy target these structures to speed recovery, help in the prevention of injuries and aid pre-habilitation.
It was originally developed to help athletes perform at their optimal level, to recover from such exertion rapidly, and to minimise the risk of injury. This still remains the principle focus of Sports Massage, however its ability to release tight, sore muscles and promote relaxation means that a vast array of other groups, such as desk-bound office workers and mums-to-be, can also benefit.

Pilates is a whole body exercise and is designed to improve your posture, core stability and flexibility, and is a safe way to return to exercise and take control of your body again if you have any existing aches and pains or injuries. It is a great way to rehabilitate your body following injury. Whilst the exercises are gentle they are also very challenging at the same time, and you are guaranteed to feel muscles that you didn't know existed!
We run a Physiotherapist led class and so the exercises are also designed to help anyone with existing neck/back or other joint problems with the added confidence that fully qualified & Chartered Physiotherapists are on hand for any niggles & injury queries.
We currently run small friendly group Pilates classes in 6 week blocks and gradually progress the difficulty level of the exercises each week to suit your individual level. Whether you're a complete beginner or are looking for more of a challenge we have classes adapted for all levels.
If everything has gone well after your 6 week check, this fun and sociable mat class is a great way to return to exercise and get your pre-baby body back. There are a lot of changes happening to the mother's body during and after pregnancy and pilates is a good way to help you deal with these changes. Our class targets posture, flexibility, pelvic floor and general full body conditioning.
Rachel Yaseen manages and runs the Physio-led Pilates classes. All classes are 60 minutes duration

‘Chris Lowe Nutrition offers a research driven approach to help change the way you look, feel and perform by supporting you every step of the way’
Hi, my name is Chris Lowe and I'm a nutrition consultant located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I’m a research driven practitioner with an MSc in Sports & Exercise Nutrition and a BSc in Sports Biomedicine & Nutrition. I’m also accredited in kinanthropometry as well as being on the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Graduate Register.
Through my consultancy I have worked with clients looking to improve general health and wellbeing, body composition, and sports performance. I have worked with a range of athletes from national to European and International competition level. My aim with all clients is to provide education to improve health, body composition, and sporting performance through increasing your understanding that meeting nutritional demands must be the number one priority when it comes to achieving any goal.
Whether it’s fuel for performance, optimising recovery, gaining muscle or losing fat; there is always a method that can be introduced to help facilitate your goals. It is a matter of understanding the principles and methods to best suit your lifestyle, schedule and training requirements; thus achieving your goals.
My philosophy is to ensure that all nutrition approaches are sustainable; don’t see yourself following a certain diet or approach for more than 6 months? Then it probably isn’t the correct approach for you. Diets are like tools in a tool box, it’s a case of finding the right tool for the job that will allow for long term habit changes and sustainability. Most importantly, taking a multifaceted approach towards your goals ensures that personal preferences, nutritional values, current research, and previous experiences are considered to produce the best possible results.
